Age: 56 Occupation: Chief of Police and AP Director, BCPD Gates (the spelling in the manual and original Japanese game is incorrect) is one of the five original Policenauts, and formerly of Scotland Yard. He is now Chief of the Beyond Coast Police Department, and spends his days behind a desk in the AP (Advanced Police, basically the BCPD SWAT team) Department. When Jonathan first approaches him regarding Kenzo Hojyo's disappearance, he agrees to allow him to investigate in an unofficial capacity... as long as he keeps it low-key. Even after Jonathan causes some upset at the launch event for K-9, Gates is able to keep a lid on things - just about - thanks to a good relationship with Joseph. |
