The main part of my little collection began with toys based on or from video games. Yes, OK, I have more TransFormers than all of these put together, but then, I have more 'original' Star Wars toys than I have TransFormers. More recently, though - and after about a ten year 'rest' - I've got back into collecting TransFormers. Even so, only the new purchases - as opposed to my full collection of Generation 1 toys - are appearing herefor the time being. This is my little collection, so I say what goes in, OK?

Anyway. The toy which first began the collection - now sitting comfortably with the Miscellaneous Robots - was Viper II from Virtual On (AM3's Model 2 wonder-robo-ruck arcade machine, translated to Saturn and PC). He was the last one left in the London branch of Forbidden Planet - not a huge surprise, considering he's the equivalent of the transvestite character in 'normal' beat-'em-ups or some Japanese cartoons. After absolutely ages of having him, thinking 'wouldn't it be great to own the whole lot?', I ventured back into Forbidden Planet looking for the rest.

Sadly for me and the shop, they weren't there. Luckily for the shop, however, they did have a whole bunch of other cool stuff...Which I proceeded to buy. The problem with Forbidden Planet around that time was that they changed things round so quickly, shuffling things around, replacing one range with another, that you got the impression they bought a load of stuff, sold it off and never bothered to restock on the same things. This has changed for the better now they have their larger shop in Shaftesbury Avenue - there are defined sections within the shop... and their comics section actually has lighting!

Other toys have been bought in some diverse locations - Computer Exchange, Ebay, various specialist websites, even shops in the States... but for the moment, I seem to be focussing on Robot things, particularly TransFormers and the Gundam model kits from Gundam Mad.

The new pictures are of a better quality because they were taken using my own digital camera, specifically my own Sony DSC-S75. If I can be bothered, I may decide to take new photos of the older stuff, just so the pages look as good as they can...
